RESIDENCE HALLS OPEN FOR NEW STUDENTS
O-Aides will meet you at the residence halls and assist you in moving your belongings into the building. Members of the Housing System, including Resident Heads and Assistant Resident Heads, will be in the Houses throughout the day to greet you and your family. Resident Masters will also host welcome receptions throughout the day in some communities. When you check into your residence hall you will receive your keys.
Note: Commuter students move into Snell-Hitchcock at this time.

BUS SERVICE
Free shuttle buses will run between some of the residence halls and campus. Check the front desk of your residence hall or the information desk on the first floor of the Reynolds Club for schedules.

ORIENTATION REGISTRATION FOR NEW STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
Reynolds Club, 5706 South University Avenue

The Office of the Dean of Students in the College and the College Programming Office will greet you and your family in the Reynolds Club.
Students: Check in, pick up Orientation materials and appointment cards and register for language placement tests. Make sure you attend Orientation Registration to pick up your official registration materials and student ID number before checking in with Networking Services and Information Technologies. Without your student ID number you will not be able to get your University of Chicago Card (UCID).
Family: Visit the Family Resources Fair, learn about Family Weekend and speak to representatives from various University offices, local banks and newspapers. For more information on family activities, see http://parents.uchicago.edu.

You will receive your University of Chicago Card (UCID), which is the all-purpose identification card that provides access to the libraries, computing clusters, food services, residence halls and other facilities. You can also use it in copiers, for laundry services and to cash checks at the Bursar's Office. You must bring your appointment card and a current photo identification card such as a school ID, driver's license or passport as proof of identity.

Pick up everything you need to connect to the University's data network and enjoy food and entertainment. After you get your UCID in the lower level of the Regenstein Library, Networking Services & Information Technologies (NSIT) staff will distribute the Connectivity Package CD and other important information in a techno-savvy messenger bag. Outside, staff will answer questions about your email account, telephone services, network security, software, purchases from the Campus Computer Stores and more. Don't forget to stop by the Treasure Hunt for a chance to win a prize!

The Bookstore is a great place to get everything you need from dorm room necessities and textbooks to University of Chicago merchandise. During O-Week and the first week of classes there will be sales on Jansport clothing and its private label (Red Shirt) clothing items. Throughout the year, students receive a 10% discount on a large selection of general reading books when they present their UCID.

Zimmer, President of the University; the official presentation of the Class of 2011 Banner by an alumni leader and an address about liberal education at the University of Chicago delivered by John W. Boyer, Dean of the College. Video simulcast will be available in the Cloister Club, Max Palevsky Cinema and the Third Floor Theatre in Ida Noyes Hall.

At this point, students say goodbye to their families and continue on through Bartlett Quad to the Class of 2011 Photo on North Field. Families proceed to the Family Reception in Hutchinson Courtyard.
